Worcester, MA -- Yesterday, 7 people were arrested in a drug sweep, according to police. As a result of a number of complaints from local residents that drug activity took place in visible sight on Mount Pleasant Street, Sergeant Carl J. Supernor said that Officer Jon A. Kachadoorian began the investigation. At about 2:20 PM, Officer Steven C. Cortis and his police dog were able to find 41 grams of crack cocaine that were broken down into 150 bags of $20 rocks. This was located in the exterior siding of the house. Additionally, police confiscated about $900 in cash.
All seven people, ranging in age from 18 to 33, were charged with trafficking in cocaine (28-99 grams) and a drug violation within 1,000 feet of a school. Madeline Soto, 31, was also charged with possession of cocaine. Joel Perez, 24, and Domingo Cartagena, 32, were also charged with possessing an open container of alcohol.
